One decision. A completely new trajectory.

In 2003, Jeff Davidson walked away from a software development role at Intel in California and moved back to South Florida with a single intention: build something of his own.

He picked up the phone and called Edward “Eddie” Steinberg, a seasoned entrepreneur who had already built and sold his company to a NYSE firm. Eddie invited Jeff to dinner and brought a bottle of Bordeaux. The conversation that night didn’t just cover business strategy — it quietly set the foundation for what would become Velocity Processing.

Building the business one relationship at a time.

With Eddie’s guidance, Jeff’s new venture began serving local businesses with credit card processing. There were no shortcuts: just diligent execution, honest conversations, and a shared belief that service mattered as much as pricing.

Every month, the pattern repeated — dinner, Bordeaux, strategy. From 2003 through 2007, the portfolio steadily expanded from South Florida merchants to a nationwide client base. Those early years hard-wired a philosophy that still drives Velocity today: treat every client like a long-term partner, not an account number.

“How do we take this to the next level?”

By April 2008, the business was growing — and so were the ambitions. Jeff asked Eddie, “You built and sold your company and retired at 50. How do I get from here to there?”

Eddie’s answer was simple: he didn’t want his life predicated on hitting golf balls. Instead, he proposed something bigger: equal business partners, building a monster together.

They raised their glasses. On April 28, 2008, Velocity Processing was officially born.

2009 – Today

From local processor to trusted, strategic partner.

From 2009 through today, Velocity has evolved into one of Elavon’s top MSP offices — not by chasing volume, but by obsessing over experience, execution, and outcomes.

The team has become a go-to resource for ecommerce payments, complex software integrations, and compliant surcharging programs. Clients lean on Velocity not just to process transactions, but to think several moves ahead on behalf of their business.

Through all the growth, one belief remains unchanged: business and life are about relationships, and every transaction is an opportunity to deliver a phenomenal experience.
